I watched some more Merlin, and it is indeed slashy like whoa! :D

You know what I think the difference is? Merlin slash is fun because there is actual subtext, whereas in some other fandoms I feel like characters just get paired together because slash is perceived to be cooler than het. Maybe that's cause I'm generally such a canon thumper, and there are usually more het relationships in books and on TV.
