We-get-the-point-already!

Bones writers, I am putting you on notice. I love Booth and Brennan. I think they're like Mulder and Scully with less angst and anthropology instead of aliens. But I've had it with all the anvils. The "Booth and Brennan are in love with each other but are too oblivious/dense/scared to do anything about it" thing is played out, and each week of some outside character, whether it's Angela, Sweets, Gordon Gordon, or now Booth's grandfather, it gets a little bit more annoying. Just have them get together and try to write an interesting story about them trying to sort out their personal and professional relationship now that they're a couple. Mmkay?

That being said, Booth's grandfather was a hoot. Also, I basically want all of Brennan's clothes. And her mad genius skillz.

The anvils are sort of the point though, aren't they? Brennan is soooo dense that everyone around her is shaking their heads in disbelief that only she can't see it. I don't feel like it's trying to hammer it home to the audience so much because Booth's feelings are completely out in the open. It was so sweet last week when he said, "She's not in love with me. I'd know if she was." It's like proper, olde-timey courtly love...*melts*

If you'd asked me last season which intern I'd pick (given the choice), I'd have said Wendell in a heartbeat, because he's cute and I'm shallow. But since the season 5 finale, it's Mr Nigel-Murray all the way (he was awesome in Mad Men too). But I do like all of them, so I hope they keep it like this, and I *never* thought I'd say that!

You do have a good point about Booth's feeling being out in the open. It seems like in most shows they'll leave two characters acting inexplicably dense for years. At least it's actually in character for Bones to be emotionally dense.

Last season I would've picked Wendell as well, but now I just can't make up my mind. They've all got things I really like about them! You know what I enjoyed? The awkward tag-team of Mr. Nigel-Murray and Zack in last season's finale. Sadly, that'll probably be their only team up. (And I haven't seen him in Mad Men yet, so that's something to look forward to when I get around to watching season 3!)
