A lot of people have abandoned it PURELY because Tennant and RTD have left.

I get that people were very attached to that era, but it's the nature of the show that the whole thing gets shaken up every few years. It seems like if you loved one Doctor, it'd be good to at least give the next a chance. (And then they wouldn't miss the awesomesauce!!)
