I didn't mind the chest monster in the books either; I didn't even pick up on the phrase that strongly until people in fandom starting picking on it all the time. But all that basically occurs in the "Harry-vision" of the narration, so I was happy they found a good way to translate that onto screen. You know, without giving him an actual chest monster.

I agree about Ron. Sadly, his characterization in the final scene is consistent with the way Kloves has written him all along. It's always less clear in the movies that Ron is a very loyal friend, and though not academically minded, a quite capable wizard.
