The Week Without an Olympics

  • I haven't complained about school much recently, so I should do that. It's totally getting in the way! I'm now supervising three student assistants and a volunteer at work, which is complicated since I'm still part time.
  • Today in the department of crazy coincidences, I was talking to my sister on the phone, and we discovered that we both got North by Northwest from Netflix today. She didn't believe me at first and kept shouting "Are you shitting me?" at the phone.
  • I bought myself a couple CDs as an early birthday present—Mumford and Sons' Sigh No More and Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster. I hope Amazon's recommendation thing is at least a tiny bit confused.
  • There was new Chuck this week! I feel like the season might be building toward Ellie (and possibly Morgan) finding out about Chuck's spy life. Chuck seems to desperately want to tell Ellie the truth, even if he is getting much better at lying. I'm interested to see where that goes. Sarah's having a really similar problem— unlike Chuck she's used to lying all the time, but she wants a chance to just be herself again. Casey is just awesome as usual, but Shaw still rubs me the wrong way.
  • One more week until spring break!

I really want more Ellie/Morgan 'half a spy' detective work. Who knows Chuck better than these two? I think it could end up being one of the season's best storylines. Shaw is creepy and dangerous. Watch out Sarah oops I mean [omitted spoiler].

I think Ellie is an under-appreciated character. (Not that I have tons of experience in Chuck fandom to judge from, but it seems to center on Chuch/Sarah and Adam Baldwin.) Maybe it's because Ellie is the most "normal" character on a show full of extreme personalities. But I love that Ellie and Chuck have such a close relationship and that it's remained so important to the story. I think it will be very fun to watch how she reacts to learning about Chuck's real job.

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way about Shaw. It's weird having an interloper on the team.
