And I'm really not sure what I think about the episodic/serial. When they first started making everything serial I really liked it, but now I think it depends on the show and/or a happy medium would be good. Heroes, for instance, would be much better if it was mostly episodic. Then it wouldn't have time to take itself way too seriously. Good example of a happy medium for me would be Life On Mars and Ashes to Ashes. There's a coherent storyline/mystery underlining it all, but mostly it's just a different crime every week.
