alexiscartwheelIt's no secret that Kara Thrace is my favorite character on Battlestar Galactica. I love her even when she's completely crazy. Or maybe especially when she's completely crazy. It's hard to say.
The past two episodes have been awesome all around, and a big part of that has been Kara and her partner-in-guerilla warfare, Leland (heh) Adama. They are a sexy, sexy team. Mm-hmm. I really think the remainder of the series could use more of this:

I know, I know, you can't really shoot that way. Whatever. What do I know about guns? I've got Canadian genes. The point is... Starbuck and Apollo! Being soldierly together! Can Lee quit the Quorum (of which he's the lone member now anyway) and rejoin the military? Pretty please? Sure, he can make a stirring speech about democracy and justice and doesn't look half bad in a suit, but the Colonial fatigues are pretty good too! How is it fair that Kara gets to show off her sexy arms and Lee doesn't?
(BSG is secretly all about sexy arms. If you doubt me, rewatch that episode where they're all on the Demetrius in the sweltering hot. Yeah.)
Oh, and while we're on the subject of things that happened on the Demetrius, I have a theory about how the mutiny is actually all Anders' fault. Back on the Demetrius, Anders shot Gaeta in the leg. Gaeta's lower leg gets amputated, which sucks a lot for him. He gets more emo and hates the cylons more than usual, and his leg hurts, eventually leading him to partner with Zarek in an ill-conceived grasp at power. It makes perfect sense.
So really, it's fitting that Anders gets shot in the mutiny.
It'll probably have emotional repercussions for Kara, but, um, at least he's out of the way. (I'm assuming here that he's going to die. We last saw him headed for Doc Cottle with Kara and Romo, but he didn't look too great.) Yes, I'm cold, but I always thought he was boring and irritating. And now Kara won't have to worry about her religious objections to divorce.
And then we can have One Big Happy Adama Family! And just because it amuses me:
"Mom and Dad are kissing! Gross!" At least my other favorite couple on the show finally got their act together! :)
