I have new LJ friends, and am thus feeling inspired to actually post something!

For the first time ever, I didn't go back to Ohio for Thanksgiving. As much as I love my family, I think it made for a more relaxing weekend, especially since I didn't have to waste the better part of two days messing around in traffic. I had Thanksgiving dinner at the home of some friends of friends, where in addition to eating delicious food, we played lots of board games, some Wii games, and watched some Community. (OMG Community! I recently watched all of seasons 1 and 2 in a single week. I love it.)

bookwench31 is trying to pull me into Avengers fandom. She will probably be successful. Yesterday I hung out with her and flyingcarpet and we watched both Iron Mans and Captain America, ate lots of snacks, and tried to figure out how old Howard Stark is. (Answer, we're not 100% sure, but Dominic Cooper is pretty and John Slattery seems more like Walt Disney than a guy that builds deadly weapons.) Now I just have to see Thor, which is next on my Netflix queue.

On the job front, the list of places I do not have a job grows ever longer. But I do have an interview coming up in two weeks. That had better go well cause I've only got four weeks of work left and unemployment would totally cramp my style.

And I think I'll go watch some more Firefly. I've been feeling a bit down, so I decided a Firefly rewatch was just the thing to pick me up a little. Just like early West Wing, it never gets old.

comicstore_news is a daily newsletter for all comics fandom, and ontd_marvel is good for Avengers (and other Marvel) updates.

Outside of that, I'm kind of a hardcore Steve/Tony shipper (with something of a focus on the comics fandom, though I like the movieverse, too). So I have a Steve/Tony rec list, separated by universe, and I hang out a cap_ironman.

I have been really getting into comics lately so I support the attempt to get you into Avengers fandom! The movies are all pretty sweet.

I find comics kind of intimidating just because there's sooooooo much stuff, but the movies are more manageable in scope.
