Last month's experiment actually worked! I read all the books on my TBR list (and also a bunch of fic, duh) so I'm gonna go again and see if I can ride this wave of success.
I've accumulated several more library books, again far more than I know it's realistic to try to read in one month. Last month I returned a few that I knew I wouldn't have time for and kept a couple extras, so I think I'll do the same this time.
Here's this month's lineup:
I feel like I need something nonfiction, but maybe I can figure that out along the way.

Here's this month's lineup:
- Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree - I feel like this is cheating because I already finished it, but it was quick and it's Saturday *shrug*
- Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee - What's that? Actually finishing a series? The same year I started it?
- Yerba Buena by Nina Lacour - Gotta read this one quickly because people have holds.
- A Magic Steeped in Poison by Judy Lin - Finish one series, start another?
I feel like I need something nonfiction, but maybe I can figure that out along the way.

These are often completely different books than the ones already on my TBR on Goodreads. Right now I have 19 checked out, 9 more holds waiting to be filled... and 90 something on Goodreads.

It looks like a completely different thing! I mean maybe it would be an okay film if it weren't trying to be Persuasion.

Date: 2022-07-03 03:00 pm (UTC)It's a system I developed after realising that I had hardly any room to buy new books. So now I make sure to look and see if my county's library system has the book first; if it does, I put the book on the 'tbr' list on my library account. But I still have TWO 'tbr' lists on Waterstones. I won't be looking at those until the library 'tbr' list has shrunk.

This is what annoys me. They could have done a modern version (like Clueless) and that would have been fine. In fact, I think a lot of people would be happy to have a modern adaptation. But they've insisted on keeping the period dress while trying to modernise everything else and attempting to turn Anne into Lizzie Bennett (except they completely overshot and turned her into Lydia). It's heinous.
