1. Reply to this post, and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!
Ginny Weasley
One day I realized that I didn't have any Harry Potter icons, and that had to be remedied right away! This one is Ginny Weasley, one of my favorite characters, from the Goblet of Fire movie, and was made by
loleiasbits . I normally tend to like really bright colors, but I liked the kind of earthy tone of this one.
Mummy
"The Empty Child" is one of my favorite Ninth Doctor episodes, so I loved the shout out to it in "The Poison Sky." I always enjoy Ten's habit of diffusing a tense situation with humor, and I also liked that the in joke with the audience was also a reminder that Nine and Ten (and all the other Doctor's) are all the same man. And did I mention it was funny?
Canada
My mom was born in Canada, and as of last year, I am a citizen of both the United States and Canada. I lived in Montreal last fall, but even before that, I was fascinated by all things Canadian. I think I originally made this as an AIM icon, but luckily I saved a larger version, so I can use it on LJ too! The text is from the lyrics of "Oh, Canada" by Five Iron Frenzy. "Let's go to Canada/let's leave today..."
Smart is Sexy
This lovely icon by
angiescully features Stockard Channing of The West Wing, one of the best shows on television ever. Stockard's character, first lady Abigail Bartlet, proved this statement true: smart is sexy. Actually, the same applies to the rest of the female cast too: CJ, Amy, Donna, Ainsley... the show is just packed with awesome and intelligent women.
Reading
And finally, Lizzie Bennet from the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice. (I am one of those crazy people who loves the 1995 BBC version, you know, the Colin Firth one, and the newer version. They're just differently lovely.) Jane Austen is one of my favorite authors of all time, and I can read P&P over and over again. This was my default icon for quite awhile, and I still use it anytime I post about books or reading, which is fairly often.
