(It's funny cause it's true.)

Good reminder that I should probably pack my AACR2, just in case.

I'm cracking up that there's a community called lollibrarians. :D

Well of course! Librarians are strange, funny people. We make obscure cataloging jokes... it's kind of scary.

heehee... I totally agree! (and I am/was technically an "assistant cataloguer" for the summer!)

However, depending on when you'll be taking cataloguing, you may not need the AACR2r2002 that we used last year- RDA is coming out in early 2009, according to my boss at McGill (who should know, as she is on the committee that wrote it)

And so, out with the old, too long, unread cataloguing rules, and in with the new!

I figure I'm better off throwing the stupid thing in the car with me now, even if I end up not needing it because of RDA, than getting there and realizing I need it, but it's in Ohio. Hopefully I get to skip right to the second cataloging class. I don't wanna make stupid cards again!

lol... the cards are definitely early 20th century. I think 99% of the cataloguing world has moved beyond them now (the other 1% being those libraries that are still so poor that they can't afford computers- I'm sure they exist somewhere)

:D
