Me and the Biblithèque Nationale are experiencing some slight stress in our relationship. See, after I got my library card, I reserved some books. Unlike at CML, the reserve system did not tell me my position on the waiting list. Unfortunate, but whatever. I decided I'd just wait. Last Tuesday, much to my delight, the library website informed me that New Moon, the next Stephanie Meyer book, would be "Available Soon."

And now it's Thursday -- nine days later -- and my book is still, supposedly "Available Soon." Apparently the library and I have vastly different interpretations of the word "soon," and they're driving me totally insane! Don't they get it that it's not fair to tease me like that?

They might be waiting for the new moon to lend it.

Oh dear. I hope doesn't mean I actually have to keep track of the lunar cycle to figure out when I can read it.

I've decided I have to check out these Stephanie Meyer books. They were talking about them on this podcast with sci-fi news (cause of course sci-fi is a catch-all for everything that doesn't fit anywhere else).

Um, no they're not sci-fi. Not at all, really. You should read them anyway though.

Well I know they're not sci-fi. But I guess sci-fi fans also like vampires. Which gives me a thought-vampires in space. I'm gonna make a million.

You know what they don't have in space? Sunlight! I would read your vampires in space novel.

So speaking of things that aren't sci-fi... I started reading a Mercedes Lackey book last night. It's pretty good so far. But I can't remember what it's called at the moment, and I'm too lazy to go downstairs and check.

No sunlight in space! See, it's genius! Now what could I do with that?

Also, you should let me know what book it is once you remember or glance at it.

Okay, I checked. It's Phoenix and Ashes, which isn't a Valdemar book, because the library only had mid-series books for those.
